About us

In the podcast Millennial History, we relive impactful moments in recent world-history through the eyes of millennials, who were there when it happened.

They share their memories in interviews with musical journalist Andrea Voets and reflect on the far-reaching consequences of the events on their lives, relationships, societies and views of the world. The conversations centre around the ‘deep story’: the reality as they experienced it back then as children, that shaped the blueprints for their lives.

Andrea Voets and composer/sound-designer Luke Deane combined hundreds of layers of music and words into one gripping experience for the ears. Constant sounds and songs carry the listener through and enable these bold and meaningful talks. Musical journalism, to get where we are coming from.

The music for the podcast is generously offered by more than sixty bands and musicians from the four countries. Listen to their songs over here

 About Season 1

Against a backdrop of real danger, unpredictability and profound change, these millennials have to forge a new reality. In doing so, they are not able to lean on dominant narratives or a traditional sense of privilege. Our interviewees make us part of the many surprising, creative & motivating ways they are playing the cards they were dealt. They show us how to live with contradictions, develop your own moral compass and have brave and confronting conversations with the people around you. This all culminates in a total celebration of living a full and intense life: driven by the will to fight for each other, with lots of love and care.
